2017 Porsche Panamera: Diesel Power Figures May Have Been Tweaked

By  |

The 2017 Porsche Panamera is going to arrive with a wide choice of engine options just as the older version did. While the engines offered will be different over the trims, they do all share one thing and that is they are all going to offer up performance that is excellent.

One of the engines has peaked our interest and this is the V8 4 litre diesel engine. This is the same engine that will be used in the Audi SQ7 and the Bentley Bentayga, but it’s not available right now. This is the engine that ensured that the Bentayga got the title of the fastest diesel SUV.

On the Audi and Bentley the V8 4 litire gives up 435 horses and 664 of torque. When it comes to the Porsche Panamera though it is going to offer 422 horses and 627 torque. This is less of course, but the big question is why?

At the moment Porsche hasn’t said but it is thought that Porsche may have just toned down the official figures. The engine on the upcoming Porsche Panamera may offer the same as that on the Audi SQ7 and the Bentley Bentayga.
