2017 Porsche 911 Carrera S vs Corvette Grand Sport: Rivalry Gets Better

By  |

The 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera S and the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport are going up against each other. The Porsche used to be known as the most superior out of the two, however things have changed and Porsche no longer has the upper hand. So which of the two is the best?

The Porsche 911 Carrera S offers up 460 horses at 6,000rpm and the 2017 Chevrolet Corvette managed 420 horses at 6.500rpm. You can pick up the Corvette for around $38,000 but the Porsche is going to cost you a lot more at about $66, 445. But is the big price difference worth it?

The Chevrolet Corvette does offer up the most power out of the two but then the Porsche 911 Carrera S happens to be the faster of the two. The Corvette takes 3.1 seconds to reach 60mph and the Porsche is only 0.8 seconds faster, so you do have to take this into account when considering the huge price difference. Things have changed a great deal since 2014 and the 911 is no longer the far superior out of the two.

The Chevrolet Corvette has the manual gearing and the Porsche 911 Carrera S offers the automatic, so this could sway you a little. The Corvette reaches the quarter mile in 12.2 seconds at 116.1mph and the Porsche 11.5 seconds at 120.5mph. once again the figures are a lot closer than they might have been in 2014.

So which would you choose, would you go for the Porsche 911 Carrera S or would it be the Chevrolet Corvette?
