The 2017 Nissan Rogue is going to hurt the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid where it really matters, the price tag.

The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid comes in with a price tag of $29, 970, while the 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid is $27, 180 if you choose the front-wheel drive. The Rogue has been the best-seller of 2016 and it has been given a refresh for the 2017 version.

The Nissan Rogue Hybrid is offered in a choice of two trims and these are the SV and the SL. The all-wheel drive version adds another $4, 920 to the price tag. You can pick up the front-wheel drive for $27, 180 and the all-wheel drive comes in at $32, 100.

What does stand out is the fact that the hybrid version is just $1,000 more than if you go for the gas version. If you choose the SL it costs $28, 530 if you go for front-wheel drive and $33, 450 for the all-wheel drive. Even if you choose the top trim you still pay less than what you would for the base version of the RAV4 Hybrid.

The engine in the 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid is the 2 litre 16 valve DOHC aluminium alloy inline 4 cylinder and this comes with the 30kWh electric motor. You get 176 horses combined and the front-wheel drive offers 33mpg when in the city, 35mpg out on the highway and 34mpg combined. The all-wheel drive offers 31mpg in the city, 34mpg out on the highway and 33mpg combined.
