2017 Mercedes E-Class: Fails From The Get-Go
Mercedes is usually a name that is associated with class and good breeding, however the 2017 Mercedes E-Class has failed from the get-go due to a serious recall. The vehicle only went on sale over in the US in June and already its reached a stumbling block.
It seems that early versions of the 2017 E300 and the E300 4MATIC sedan have an issue with the wiring and this could lead to the engine stalling. Filings with the NHTSA tell us that 6, 858 vehicles have been involved. These vehicles are said to have a wiring harness that is mounted underneath the rear seat bench that may cut off the fuel pump, the fuel gauge or the fuel-tank pressure and in some cases all three.
The issue with the 2017 Mercedes E-Class was first noticed in June when the vehicle was undergoing internal testing and examination of the wiring took place. At the moment owners haven’t reported any issues and it was said that vehicles that were built after 2 September have wiring that is rerouted.
