Mazda has started to take pre-orders for the 2017 Mazda MX-5 RF and now we hear that the vehicle has gone into production ready for markets in Europe and North America.

One of the biggest differences between the regular version of the MX-5 Miata and the MX-5 RF is the price tag, along with the roof that is now electrically operated as opposed to manually operated. The former starts at $25k, while the latter is going to start at $31,555 in the US for the manual and $32, 285 for the automatic.

This means you are going to have to hand over $6k more just so you can press a button and have the roof retract along with having looks that are better on the Mazda MX-5 RF.

If you want the top of the range 2017 Mazda MX-5 RF you are going to have to pay out for the Launch Edition with a price tag of $33,850 for manual and $34, 295 for the automatic. With this you get everything from the Grand Touring trim along with heated seating, LED daytime running lights and automatic air conditioning. However only 1000 units will be made so don’t hang around.

But would you be willing to pay more for the 2017 Mazda MX-5 RF?
