Before today the Mazda MX-5 Miata wasn’t said to be a premium car or a classy vehicle. However things have changed and now Mazda is going up market and they have come up with the Mazda MX-5 RF.

The Mazda MX-5 RF offers up a hardrop roof that can be retracted and with the roof it does weigh in heavier than the normal variation of the Miata.

This doesn’t really matter though as the roadster is more slicker and upscale and it is thought that the Mazda MX-5 RF is going to be delivered in February 2017 with pre-orders for the vehicle having already started.

The Mazda MX-5 RF does have a price tag that is steep; this applies to the Launch Edition which is limited to 1,000 units. The standard version of the targa hardtop hasn’t yet been revealed but the MX-5 RF comes In with a price tag of $34, 685.

This happens to be more than $9, 500 than what you would pay for the basic Miata and it doesn’t offer up much more than the normal version. The Launch Edition does come with a black roof panel, leather upholstery and Tourneau watch.

If you do want to get hold of one you are going to have to wait as the Limited Edition is only being offered to those who receive an invitation. If the 1,000 units are not sold before 3 October then you stand a chance of getting one.
