2017 Mazda CX-5: Going Premium Next Time?

By  |

We have heard a lot about Mazda wanting to enter into the premium market and many people believed that when the 2017 Mazda CX-5 came onto the market this would be the vehicle that would take them there. However it is looking as though we are going to have wait until next time.

The 2017 Mazda CX-5 was said to be coming out with plenty premium features along with a price tag that was higher. However we now know the price tag of the upcoming vehicle in Japan and this tells us that Mazda isn’t going to be entering the premium market just yet.

The Mazda CX-5 will have a price tag of equivalent to $20, 800 in Japan. Of course we are expecting the price tag to be a little different when it does arrive in the US. But we can safely say that it isn’t going to come with a price tag that would put it in the premium market.

Mazda have already revealed US models and the fact that they will come with a diesel engine option. The diesel version of the Mazda CX-5 is going to offer up the 2 litre Skyactive-D engine and this will offer up 155PS.

So the 2017 Mazda CX-5 isn’t going to be a premium version this time around but Mazda will still be working on entering into the premium market and maybe the next version will take them there.
