The Mazda CX-9 was the center of attention when it was announced that the new model will not only be getting a new exterior design but it will also with Mazda’s new engine. The engine will not only help with the performance but also the fuel efficiency of the vehicle.
Ever since that engine was unveiled, the fans were hoping that Mazda would also offer it on the Mazda CX-5 since the Mazda CX-5 performance was one of the reasons why people are not queuing up to get one.
While the Mazda CX-5 did not end up with the new engine, what it got was even better. Instead of a more powerful engine, Mazda will be offering the Mazda CX-5 a diesel engine. The diesel model will be powered by a 2.2-liter SkyActiv-D engine.
The only downside to it all is that the Mazda CX-5 will not be getting a manual transmission this time around. Will the diesel engine be enough to convince you that the CX-5 is worth getting?
