Many people were optimistic when Mazda said that they were bringing in the 2.5 litre turbocharged four SkyActiv G engine to the 2017 Mazda 3, now they have become disheartened. However it’s not all bad news for those who like the compact vehicle.
The Mazda 3 comes with the G-Vectoring Control and this means that driving the vehicle is easier, while the sound in the cabin is kept down. The biggest kicker of all though is with the price tag, which is very attractive.
The entry level price remains at $18, 680 if you go for the sedan version of the Mazda 3 and the hatchback comes in with a price tag that increases by $550. The Touring version also sees a boost in price by $400.
This may encourage people to go for the Mazda 3 in the top level trim. The Touring 2.5 is taking over from the S Touring and its price tag has been dropped $2, 050. The Grand Touring version now comes in at $1,600 cheaper if you go for the sedan and the hatchback is $1, 550 cheaper.
Anyone who was considering purchasing the Mazda 3 who didn’t expect the price drop may well want to consider the Premium equipment or i-ACTIVSENSE packages, which come at a cost of $1, 600 and $1, 100. The Grand Touring is only offered with the 2.5 litre engine and this offers up 184 horses along with 185 torque.
