2017 Jeep Wrangler Raises Above Jeep Cherokee
Jeep has plans for the Jeep Wrangler and they want the vehicle to be the leader in their lineup. This has meant that changes in the production are needed so that the production of the Wrangler can be boosted at the Toledo plant and production can be doubled.
It was said that most of the 450,000 annual capacity at the plant would be for the Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep Cherokee is going to be moved to a plant in Illinois to ensure that the Jeep Wrangler is able to raise above the Cherokee to become the best-selling vehicle.
Even before these changes have been made the Jeep Wrangler has managed to get in front of the sales of the Cherokee along with the Grand Cherokee. If you look at the figures of the 4×4 you can see that sales have bypassed the Cherokees.
Perhaps in the past the Cherokee was outselling the Grand Cherokee due to the fact that it has looks that are more appealing and it has a price tag that is more affordable.
It was outselling the Jeep Wrangler due to the fact that there hasn’t been enough by way of supply for the former as capacity has been shared in the past. The Cherokee also had more appeal outside of the US.
However the recent sales figures do suggest that the appeal is dropping and the Jeep Wrangler has now started to overtake sales.
