2017 Jeep Wrangler Is Taking Over The Cherokee
The aim of the Jeep Wrangler is for it to come in at center stage as Jeep want the nameplate to be the brands representative. This is one of the main reasons why big production changes are currently underway so as to boost the capacity of the Toledo plant to almost double.
450,000 vehicles are going to be made annually at the plant and these are going to be the Jeep Wrangler, as the Cherokee is going to be relocated to the plant in Illinois. This should ensure that the Wrangler is able to take over from the Cherokee as the leader in sales.
However even before such changes were made, the Jeep Wrangler has been able to take over the Cherokee and the Grand Cherokee to be the top of the sales. If you go on the recent sales figures you will see that the 4×4 is bigger than the premium and plush models, despite it offering a rough ride.
The Grand Cherokee has been outselling the Jeep Wrangler due to the fact that there hasn’t been enough supply as the plant in Toledo was sharing capacity.
Recently the sales figures suggest that appeal is dying down and the Jeep Wrangler does seem to be gaining ground.
