2017 Jeep Wrangler Is Taking Over From The Jeep Cherokee
Jeep want the Jeep Wrangler to be the number one vehicle in the lineup and to make sure that this is going to happen they are making changes to the production at the Toledo plant. This means that it will then be able to boost capacity to around double of what it is at the moment.
Around 450,000 of the annual capacity will be for the Jeep Wrangler as they are moving the production of the Jeep Cherokee to Illinois. This means that they will be able to produce more Jeep Wranglers and it will then be able to top the sales of the Jeep Cherokee.
Even before they have done this the Jeep Wrangler managed to outsell the Jeep Cherokee along with the Jeep Grand Cherokee. If you take a look at the recent sales figures you will find that the Wrangler is the vehicle that comes out ahead.
The Jeep Cherokee isn’t a premium vehicle, this title is taken by the Grand Cherokee, what makes the Cherokee so successful is that it has a price tag that is more affordable.
It was outselling the Jeep Wrangler and this was due to the fact that there hasn’t been enough supply of the Wrangler. This could be about to change though as the Toledo plant isn’t going to have to share production. The Cherokee seemed to have a more modern appeal to people outside of the US and this made it more popular in the past.
This is going to change though as the appeal is said to be on the decline and this means that the Jeep Wrangler has been making more headway.
