2017 Jeep Wrangler Is Going To Take Cherokee Over
The Jeep Wrangler is going to be taking over at the front of the lineup for the company as they want it to represent them. This is one of the main reasons why Jeep is boosting the Toledo plants capacity so that capacity will be almost doubled.
Jeep is hoping to produce around 450,000 units of the Jeep Wrangler as they are going to be relocating the production of the Jeep Cherokee to Illinois. This will ensure that they have plenty of room for making the Wrangler.
Before the changes have been made though the Jeep Wrangler has managed to beat the Cherokee along with the Jeep Grand Cherokee to take the lead is sales. The recent sales of the 4×4 came in ahead of the premium and plush models of Jeep.
The Grand Cherokee has been the premium vehicle but the Cherokee is more affordable. It has been outselling the Jeep Wrangler due to the fact that the capacity of the Wrangler has been limited and outside of the US the Cherokee has a more modern appeal.
Recent sales figures seem to suggest that the appeal is now on the downward slide as the Jeep Wrangler has gained a lot of ground. Buyers outside of the US could start to appreciate the charm of the off-roader that is iconic and which came out of the Second World War.
