2017 Jeep Wrangler Could Take Over Cherokee
There is no doubt that Jeep want the Jeep Wrangler to be at the front of their lineup as they want the nameplate to be the one that represents them. To ensure that this happens they are making big changes in production at the Toledo plant to boost up the capacity offered to almost double of what it is right now.
Almost all of the 450,000 annual capacity is going to be used on the Jeep Wrangler and they are taking the Jeep Cherokee to Illinois. This should ensure that the Jeep Wrangler is able to take over the Jeep Cherokee as being the top seller.
Even before this the sales of the Jeep Wrangler have managed to outsell those of the Jeep Cherokee and the Jeep Grand Cherokee. When you check the recent figures you can see that the Wrangler comes out ahead.
The Jeep Cherokee isn’t really a premium vehicle though, this is left to the Grand Cherokee, however it may have been outselling it due to the fact that it is more affordable.
It was outselling the Jeep Wrangler as there hasn’t been enough supply for the Wrangler, the capacity at the Toledo plant has been shared by two vehicles and thanks to it having a modern appeal the Cherokee was the one that was winning outside of the US.
The recent figures have suggested that this appeal has been on the decline though and the Jeep Wrangler is gaining ground.
