2017 Jeep Cherokee Left Behind By Renegade and Wrangler
Things are drastically changing for Jeep and one vehicle that is going to be affected is the Jeep Cherokee. The FCA want the Jeep Wrangler to be the brand that’s most distinguished and they want it to be the best-seller around the world and the US.
In the US the sales of the Jeep Wrangler took over the sales of the Jeep Cherokee when it comes to year to date and monthly sales. They are hoping that this is going to be continued in the years to come.
The Jeep Cherokee will be moved from Toledo and the production of the Jeep Wrangler is going to be concentrated on. At the moment the production is 240,000 units a year but with the redesign it is thought that around 450,000 units can be produced, which means an increase of 87.5%.
The vehicle is being eclipsed though by the Jeep Renegade as internationally no other nameplate from Jeep has been able to come close to the sales growth rate of the Jeep Renegade.
Around 70% of sales went to buyers outside of the US and it was said that the sales could take over from the Cherokee to become the best-seller outside of the US.
The Jeep Wrangler is very popular and when boosted in production it should also play a part in the eclipse of the Jeep Cherokee around the world.
In the US however things are going to be different and the platform that was used for the Renegade is going to be used on the replacement to the Jeep Patriot and the Jeep Compass.
