The 2017 Hyundai Elantra does have plenty to say in comparison to the Honda Civic. When you match spec to spec you can see that it does happen to be a competitor that is worthy for taking the title of the most popular sedan of the year. However it isn’t the tech or the figures on paper that are going to attract the buyers.

Hyundai are working alongside Amazon Prime and they are promoting the Elantra in the same way that the Chevrolet Volt was promoted.

Promotion of course didn’t go down well for the Volt as the vehicle didn’t benefit from either the advertising or marketing of GM as it didn’t earn a cent from it. But the car maker does have a way of making people interested in the EV.

A driver would drive the vehicle to the address of a potential customer and give them a test drive. The driver is an expert and so they would be able to provide plenty of answers to questions.

While sounds like a simple method of promoting the vehicle it works as around 12,000 PHEVs have been sold this way this year. Hyundai has now taken the same idea and they are working with Amazon Prime on Prime Now Drive Now and people can order a test drive of the vehicle.

An expert takes the Elantra to the doorstep of the consumer and both of them then go out on a test drive in the vehicle. The only downside to the promotion is that it only applies on the weekends between 9am and 7pm and its for people living in Orange County or Los Angeles. We are hoping that new locations might be added in the future.
