When you compare the Honda Civic up against the Hyundai Elantra you can see that the latter does have a great deal to say. It does happen to be a competitor that is impressive for the popular sedan of the year title. However it might not be the on paper figures or its neat tricks that are going to make consumers want it.
Hyundai are in league with Amazon Prime and they are promoting the Hyundai Elantra in the same way that the Chevrolet Volt was promoted. Of course promotion isn’t a word that has gone down well with the Volt as it didn’t get any money from the advertising and marketing of GM. Luckily it seems that the car maker has a unique way of attracting people.
The way they are promoting it is that the car is driven over to the prospective buyer for them to give it a test drive while also answering questions by the professional that drives the vehicle to the door of the buyer.
This promotion meant that more than 12000 units of PHEV were sold using this method and Hyundai is now taking the same type of promotion for the compact sedan. They have teamed up with Amazon Prime with a promotion called Prime Now Drive Now and it allows people to order up the test drive from Prime Now delivery.
The Hyundai Elantra is driven to the home of the buyer by an expert and they both take the vehicle out for a test drive. At the moment the service is just offered on weekends and between 9am to 7pm and in Orange County and Los Angeles. We are hoping that more locations are going to be added in time.
