iSeeCars.com made have studied how long people keep hold of their vehicles before they decide to upgrade to a new one and those with Toyota vehicles tend to keep hold of them for longer than any other brand.
The website did a study of more than 2.5 million second hands vehicles that were made during 1981 and 2006 and which were sold to owners during the first ten years 2016. 22.2% of vehicles from Toyota were kept with the owner for more than 10 years.
Honda came in second as 20.2% of owners held on to their vehicles past a decade and then Subaru and Acura followed on. Of course it hasn’t been surprising to see that Toyota have dominated with owners hanging on to their Toyota Camry and Prius for over 10 years.
The Toyota Tacoma came in second to the Honda Ridgeline in the pick-up truck segment. The Ridgeline has been a favourite with owners and 22.3% of owners kept hold of their truck for more than 10 years. This was compared to 21.4% of owners who kept hold of their Tacoma.
