Fans of the Honda Pilot will be pleased to hear that when the 2017 Honda Pilot arrives it will come with many of the issues of the older version sorted. While the vehicle that arrived last year has been a success, there were some issues with it which people wanted solving ASAP and Honda took note.
One of the changes to the 2017 Honda Pilot is the new paintjob that has been given. Sadly the interior of the vehicle is about the same as that offered on the 2016 version of the vehicle. On the plus side is the fact that the new version is going to offer plenty of room for passengers and the trunk will hold just about anything you would want to take with you.
The 2017 Honda Pilot is going to arrive packed with safety technology, more so than on the vehicle that it is replacing. We have heard that the vehicle is going to have the V6 3.5 litre engine and there may be a hybrid version coming our way. The engine will not offer the two electric motors as it will come with them combined in the Atkinson-cycle I4 unit. This should offer up 220 horses along with 200 torque.
The current version of the Honda Pilot offers the six speed transmission but you can go for the nine-speed automatic gearing, which is optional. The 2017 Honda Pilot is going to offer up the nine-speed as standard and this is one of the biggest improvements. If and when the hybrid version arrives we are expecting 40mpg on average thanks to the new transmission.
We are expecting the 2017 Honda Pilot to go up against vehicles such as the Kia Sorento, Toyota Highlander, Dodge Durango and the Nissan Pathfinder.
