2017 Honda Civic Si: Don’t Try To Push It

By  |

After all the wait and hype, we finally got to see what the Honda Civic Si was all about. The design was not much of a surprise since we already had an idea of what is to come but the engine was what got the attention of the fans.

The sporty Honda Civic Si will be coming in with a 1.5 liter four engine that will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The engine will be offering about 205hp. To separate itself from the Honda Civic, the Si model will come with additional pieces like the adaptive dampers, sportier steering, bigger brakes, red accents on the outside and instead and more.

As nice as that sounds, some people were disappointed that Honda chooses to bring over the 1.5-liter turbo engine. While the numbers are great, the fans feel like Honda is already pushing the engine to its limit and that the vehicle won’t be able to go any higher in the future.

Of course, with the arrival of the Honda Civic Type R, we might see something for the Si but for now, things are not looking too good for the tuners.

The Honda Civic Si will also come fitted with standard features like the rain sensing wipers along with support for the Android Auto and Apple Carplay.

In case you are wondering, the new Honda Civic which is also powered by the same engine will be offering about 174hp and will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission with a CVT being offered as an option.
