2017 Honda Civic Hatchback Could Be Preview Of Type R and CR-V

The Civic Si was the basis for the 2016 Honda Civic Coupe and the 2018 Honda Civic Type R is based on the five door 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback, which offers up 340 horses.

The hot hatchback is said to dial back on some of the aggressive styling, which means that essentially the Honda Civic Hatchback is going to look close to the Type R.

Honda also intends the Civic models to be the canvas for the other vehicles to come out from them. The sedan is going to serve as the preview for the upcoming next generation of the Honda Accord and the hatchback is going to be the inspiration for the 5th gen Honda CR-V, as it shares its platform.

This doesn’t mean that the Honda CR-V is going to take on the same looks as the Type R, but then it might. However there is going to be a lot of the Civic on the five door compact SUV. There are some of the aspects of the hatchback that are not going onto the CR-V and this includes the dual exhaust system that is mounted centrally.
