2017 Honda Civic Hatch Is Preview Of CR-V Along With Type R

The 206 Honda Civic coupe two door is the base of the Civic Si, so the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback with five doors could be the base for the 2018 Honda Civic Type R, with the 2 litre EarthDream turbo-four engine offering 340 horses.

We have heard that the hot hatchback is going to be cutting back on the aggressive design elements and that we are going to be seeing this on the final version of the Civic Hatch, which should look similar to the Type-R.

It doesn’t end there though as Honda wants the Honda Civic to be the base for other vehicles. The sedan gives a preview of the next generation of the Honda Accord and the hatchback has been the inspiration for the 5th generation of the Honda CR-V, as it shares the same platform.

Whether or not the Honda CR-V is going to take on the same styling and looks as the Type-R remains to be seen. However we do know that there is going to be a lot of the five door Honda Civic seen on the five door compact SUV. Other aspects we don’t expect to see taken from the hatchback include the dual exhaust, which is center mounted.
