A few days ago Ford revealed the official performance kit developed by Ford Performance and this was for the EcoBoost version of the Ford Mustang. Of course the Mustang shares its engine with the Ford Focus RS and this is the 2.3 litre engine. So this leads us to think that perhaps we might see the Ford Performance kit make its way to the RS.

This is a question that the manager of Performance Parts for Ford was asked and the answer is going to please many fans of the Ford Focus RS. It was said that they feel comfortable doing something with the RS and while dates and information could not be offered, they are working on a calibration for the future.

It was said that the boost in torque could be similar to that of the Ford Mustang for the Ford Focus RS, this was a boost of 70 lb-ft of torque. The Focus in stock form offers 350 horses along with 350 torque.

The piece of kit that comes with the Ford Mustang offers 10 more horses and a jump in torque of more than 22% over the stock and adds on 70lb-ft extra. The kit for the Ford Focus RS is thought to be legal in the 50 states in the US just like the Ford Mustang and so it wouldn’t void any warranty on the vehicle.

I am both a GM and Mopar Guy but FORD has come along way. Their trucks and cars seam to be years ahead of everyone.
