2017 Dodge Challenger Sacrifices Durability For Lower Price

By  |

In the past, Dodge is known for being the automaker that pushes out a car that will not last. It is not because the Dodge models are not reliable but most of them had a serious rust issue that meant that owners will not be able to hold on to them for long.

However, it looks like it is not a thing of the past as a fair few Dodge Challenger owners have already come out to report about the rusting issues that their new Dodge Challenger seems to be having.

Some people believe that it is because the sound dampening foam in the rocker panels were not made to drain out water and after some time, the metal just started to rust. Others think that it is because Dodge did not do a proper rust proofing for the vehicle or did not bother to fit their Challenger with metal that does not oxidize. While this means that the vehicle can be sold at a cheaper price, it is going to damage their reputation in a long run.

The current Dodge Challenger will be coming in with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that will be offering about 305hp. There is also a 5.7 liter Hemi V8 engine that offers about 375hp.
