The 2017 Chevrolet Volt has been side-lined by its sibling, the Chevy Bolt. The Volt has been the best-seller among plug-in vehicles during October as it sold more units that the Model S and X combined along with selling more than the BMW i3 and Nissan Leaf combined. However, the Bolt managed to win award after award and this has meant that the Volt hasn’t received the spotlight attention that it deserves.
The Chevrolet Bolt stole away the limelight when it won Car of the Year award from Motor Trend and then went on to take the 2017 Green Car of the Year award too at the LA Auto Show.
The 2017 Chevrolet Volt on the other hand might not have won all the awards given to the Bolt, but it has taken the title of being the first plug-in to sell more than 100,000 vehicles when it sold 2,400 units in July in the US. The year to date figures stand at 18, 517 and this means the vehicle has enjoyed a gain of 63.9%.
However thanks to the Chevrolet Bolt winning all the awards it has been doing and is still going strong, the 2017 Chevrolet Volt hasn’t been given the attention that it deserves.
