2017 Chevrolet Volt May Enjoy Surprise Win Over Tesla

By  |

The Chevrolet Volt does offer up a great deal and the sales from last year, which were measly, didn’t show off the demand that that the vehicle has in fact attracted. GM has now put an end to holding back on the availability of it and since this happened the success of it has startled us.

The Chevrolet Bolt did get ahead of its closest rival for sales, the Nissan Leaf, to become the first plug-in electric vehicle to reach 10,000 lifetime sales in the US. Only two year ago this would have seemed almost impossible.

The series-parallel hybrid has managed to do this without any backing from the advertising expenditure of GM, which is huge, apart from just one small ad campaign that came out last year, which threw criticism the way of the Toyota Prius and the Leaf.

At the moment the Chevrolet Volt is the second top seller among the plug-in electric vehicles in the US, 2,000 units behind sales of the Tesla Model S.

As it has beaten the Nissan Leaf it is thought that the attention is now going to be on reaching the top spot. It is going to be a feat if it manages to take over from the top sales of the Model S, this has been the best-seller among electric vehicles in 2015.

Tesla did say that the hiccups with the production of the Model S and X have now settled down and the sales should go smoothly from now on.

So is it possible for the Chevrolet Volt to get ahead of the sales of the Model S and take the crown in the US for 2016?
