2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1: Consumers Love It More Than Hellcat

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and the Dodge Challenger Hellcat both have a lot in common. Both are offered in two-door body, both have the V8 engine and both offer the rear-wheel drive. They both have the supercharged pushrod unit that supplants the 6.2 litres.

One way in that the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 differs is that it comes with the LT4 small block and this offers up 650 horses along with 650 torque. It comes with the six-speed manual gearing or you can go for the 10 speed automatic.

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 offers the Magnetic Ride Control suspension along with the big Brembo brakes and it takes just 3.5 seconds to reach 60mph from standing still and it takes just 11.4 seconds to reach 127mph.

The Dodge Challenger Hellcat can beat the Chevrolet Camaro thanks to the 707 horses and the torque level is on par with the torque of the competition. However owners can choose the eight speed automatic or the Tremec TR-6060 six-speed transmission.

The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat offers up the Brembo brakes and this is able to reach the quarter mile in only 11.2 seconds.

Recently a poll was conducted and this revealed that consumers showed more love for the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 than the Dodge Challenger Hellcat with 74% of 1,179 people voting.

The Dodge Challenger Hellcat does seem to be the better vehicle when you look at the specs on paper; however the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is the vehicle that people love the most.
