2016 Tesla Model X Estimated To Have Outsold Chevrolet Volt

By  |

It is looking like the sales of the 2016 Tesla Model X have managed to outsell those of the Chevy Volt in June for the first time ever. However these are only estimated figures at the moment, but it is looking good for the Model X.

The 2016 Tesla Model X is estimated to have sold 2,145 units and this means it outsold the Nissan Leaf too which managed to sell 1,096 units. If the figures are accurate it means that the vehicle is now the second best plug-in electric for that month, with only the Model S beating it by selling 3, 700 units.

The Chevrolet Volt does remain in second place overall in 2016 as so far it has managed to reach sales figures of 9,808.

The 2016 Tesla Model X has sales figures of 6, 995 putting it in fourth place, while the Ford Fusion Energi sold 7, 235 units up to the end of last month.

Despite the fact that the 2016 Tesla Model X is $50,000 more than the Volt or the Leaf, and it does have its problems, it is looking as though it is coming out ahead in sales if the figures are accurate.
