2016 Honda HR-V Gets Its Own Back, Rises Above RAV4 And Escape

By  |

The Honda HR-V has been the best-seller in the US crossover market, however this has only been for July. It has managed to sell 36, 017 units and this put it in the fourth position as the best-seller in the overall automotive market, meaning that it came behind the Ford F-Series, Chevrolet Silverado and the Dodge RAM.

However when it comes to YTS sales it is remaining behind the Toyota RAV4 as it sold 195, 092 units in comparison to the 197, 771 units, with the latter having 31, 871 buyers in July.

While this does happen to be a margin that is only small, should the Honda CR-V be able to beat the RAV4 sales in August, it may well take a position as being the leader in crossovers in the US.

The Honda CR-V did manage to improve the sales figures last month but only by 13.3% in comparison to the same month the year before. Sales also went up by 0.1% in YTD sales in comparison to the year before. While the Ford Escape came in at second spot, just above the Honda, which fell by 10.2%.

The Honda Civic along with the Accord have also come ahead of the Honda CR-V for the months prior, they sold 32, 952 units along with 31, 946 units in July. The Honda Civic however is still ahead of the entire Honda lineup as it has managed to achieve sales of 222, 792 this year so far.
