2016 Honda CR-V Is Hitting Back Hard: Soars Above RAV4 and Escape
The best-selling crossover in the US is the Honda CR-V and in July it managed to sell 36, 017 units. Due to this it became the fourth best-selling vehicle in the market, with only the Ford F-series, Dodge Ram and Chevrolet Silverado ahead of it.
However when it comes to year to date sales, it trails behind the Toyota RAV4, which sold 197, 771 vehicles compared to 195, 092 vehicles.
If the Honda CR-V beats the RAV4 once again for sales in August it may well take its position back as being the leader in sales in the crossover segment in the US.
The figures of the CR-V did improve last month by 13.3% when compared with the same figures July 2015 and the YDT sales were up by 0.1% for the same period of time. The Ford Escape came in second, just in front of Honda, which fell by 10.2%.
The Honda Civic and Accord also came in above the Honda CR-V for the majority of the previous months, they sold 32, 952 and 31, 946 units in July. The Civic remains the leader of the entire Honda lineup as they have managed 222, 792 sales this year so far.
