If you had told us a few years ago that we would one day be comparing a Ford Mustang with a BMW M2 to see which is better we would have laughed.
However things have changed in 2016 what with the release of the fairly priced BMW M2 and the Ford Shelby Mustang GT350 finally being able to keep up with its European rivals on the racetrack.
At $51k for a BMW M2 and $58k for a Ford Mustang GT350, the decision should be taken quite seriously. And it isn’t just about lap times and size. Sure the Ford Mustang GT350 has 100hp over the BMW M2 but it is 0.1 seconds slower and its rear seats are practically useless.
Thankfully those independent rear suspension and Torsen differential means that it can corner extremely well – albeit not like an M-Performance vehicle still. And do take note that with a couple of extras, the Ford Mustang GT350 will cost almost as much as a BMW M2.
Of course all these points may mean nothing it you are after that sweet Voodoo V8 grunt – something the more refined BMW M2 can’t promise. With that said, we would put our money on the BMW M2 still. Which would you choose?
