2016 Ford Focus RS: The Race Is Over For The WRX STi

By  |

The Subaru WRX STi has been around for some time now and it has always been once of the favourites but it might start losing some of its fans now that Ford is planning to bring in the Ford Focus RS model.

The 2016 Ford Focus RS model will come running on the Mustang 2.3 liter EcoBoost engine but unlike the ones under the hood of the Ford Mustang, the 2.3 liter EcoBoost engine under the hood of the Ford Focus RS will be tuned to deliver about 345hp ad 325 torque. The retune engine will allow the Focus RS to go from 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds.

The Subaru WRX STI, on the other hand, will come in with a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder turbo engine that will be delivering about 305hp and 290lb ft of torque. The numbers on its own are not too bad but it is not as good as what the Ford Focus RS has to offer.

To make things a little more exciting, Ford will also offer the new Drift Mode on the Focus RS.
