Some people have said that the BMW 3 Series should be the benchmark by which other vehicles need to be made around. Now everything has changed thanks to the Infiniti Q50.
The BMW 3 Series was given an update in 2012 and the Infiniti Q50 was treated to a new design back in 2014 and then more recently in 2016. So what are the reasons for the Infiniti Q50 being ahead?
The styling of the Infiniti Q50 is good but then so is the BMW 3 Series. The latter has the looks of the classic sports sedan and this means that it is sporty, clean looking and elegant.
The size of the Infiniti is about half the size of the BMW 3 Series and it does come with some striking looks. It is sensual looking and this is due to the curves and exotic surfaces at the back end. It offers sweeping looks in the cabin along with an arc running along the centre console.
The BMW 3 Series has superb dynamics and these are balanced but it is the rear-wheel drive sedans that are ahead. The Infiniti Q50 comes with Steer by Wire Direct Adaptive Steering and plenty of programming. When in sport mode the reactions are very fast and the ride is firm while handling is agile.
The BMW 3 Series is offered with the 2 litre engine and this offers four cylinders offering 180 and 240 horsepower. There is the 3 litre 340i inline which offers 320 horse power. It is also offered in the turbodiesel inline 4 and this offers up 180 horse power along with a new plugin hybrid that offers lots of power and efficiency.
The Infiniti Q50 is available with three turbocharged engines, the 2 litre 4 cylinder base, the twin turbocharged 3 litre V6 and the hybrid which offers up 360 horses.
The Infiniti Q50 does come out well ahead in regards to safety, over the BMW 3 Series, which is one of the main reasons why it comes out ahead.
